Born into the missionary lifestyle, Kyalia's parents explored the fast edges of human colonization spreading their word and skills to new areas of the galaxy. Never wealthy but always rich if faith they were all very close, spending almost all their lives aboard freighters to the outskirts of the Federation.
Always dreaming of becoming a Starfleet officer, those dreams seemed shattered when on the outskirt Colony of Kappa Sturgis IV. Her family had set up a temple there, her father breading his word when on a beautiful autumn day, the sky filled with the black menacing cubes of the Borg. The farming and mining colony was no match for the rush of Borg that quickly assimilated the planet. She hid behind her father's workbench and watched as a Borg drone quickly dispatched her father and assimilated her two brothers, mother, and infant sister. It a fit of rage she attacked the drone, only to fall victim herself
The next ten years were a blur, so many memories, not all her own. Even her time in Unimatrix Zero was unsettling. Spending her time nurturing her hatred for the Borg and her dismissal of the fail of her father, which did nothing to save her from this threat. Even that time in the surreal paradise of Unimatrix Zero was short lived. Soon after its destruction her savior would come, not in the form of a deity, but in a Starfleet Uniform.
In a heated battle in the Gamma Orionis sector, she awoke as if she was slapped into consciousness by the hand of fate. She recalled boarding the U.S.S. Intrepid, but not much else. The Emergency Medical Hologram stood over her, gloating over his prideful work. She was now free of the collective.
Adjusting back to live outside the collective was not an easy task, but one made quicker by her anger and desire for retribution. The years under the Borg made be rude, brash and straight forward, but her intelligence, agility and superior tactical sense enabled her to fly through the academy and jolt quickly up the ranks in Starfleet.
Perhaps in a sense of humor or due to her difficult personality, her command is a small one, over the Cerebus Class Advanced Frigate Ticonderoga. Perhaps the Admiralty knew what they were doing, leaving this life-hardened spiteful woman in charge of one of the most advanced warships in the fleet. No matter their reasoning, she now has the tools to seek our her family and fulfill that burning desire for vengeance which dictates her every action.
