Treboran's Story

Alexander Treboran was born on the Mars colony 20 some odd Earth standard years ago. Even as a child, he had a habit of taking apart and putting things back together, sometimes causing a rather loud explosion as a consequence.
His parents sent him to San Fransisco when he was a young teenager, to study warp physics and particle phase theory under Dr. Jonas Zettler. Dr Zettler himself was a Starfleet veteran and spent many a lecture talking not only about physics but about glorious missions and encounters from his own service aboard a Vesper class cruiser, the U.S.S. Potomac. Alex found this fascinating and, much to his parent's disgust, enlisted in Starfleet. They wanted him to return to Mars and raise a family, he wanted to explore the galaxy.
While at the Academy, Alex heard tales of the Hyperion Fleet and their exploits in the Dominion War. He didn't think too much of these, other than remembering Dr. Zettler having referred to them as a band of scoundrels and heroes alike. He was assigned to a creaky old Miranda class light cruiser after graduation.
One day, while on long range patrol (and while Alex was in the middle of assisting the Chief Engineer with a level 3 diagnostic) his ship received emergency orders to respond to a Borg incursion. The rest...well, we have yet to see how that will play out....

Backstory of the Day!
This is a new feature I will be starting on a daily basis, any story posted in the backstory forum will be eligible to be in this feature. They will be chosen at random.
Kane's Story

Kane was a soldier in the Coalition cadre which vied for supreme control of the Turkana IV planet against the Alliance. While Kane grew up after the incident concerning the Enterprise and Tasha Yar's sister, like every other young soldier of the coalition, he grew up hearing of Ishara Yar's heroic encounter with the Enterprise crew.
Being a child of war and being raised in anarchy Kane quickly learned to fight, and win. From brief guerilla strikes into Alliance territory for supplies to all out engagements, Kane proved he had a real talent for violence, killing, and most of all survival.
One day a ship looking to acquire mineral rights in the system hailed the planet and Hayne, who was still leading the coalition was quick to act and gain the advantage. Kane was tapped for the job of leading a strike force to commendeer the unfortunate frigate. Should he prove successful his future as a leader in the Coalition would be assured. Kane was true to form and he and his two man assault team quickly gained control of the frigates transporters, and spaced the unfortunate crew.
It was at that precise moment that Kane realized his destiny lay elsewhere and with his hands still on the controls of the transporter, he spaced his two associates, gerry-rigged the engines and flew the frigate to the closest Federation outpost where he told his story to authorities; somewhat differently than how it had really happened, painting himself the hero.
Based on the tale of his heroics, he was offered a scholarship into the Federation Star Fleet Academy - who's recruiting policy was somewhat lax due to the current war - and seemed to excel temendously at security, and the tactical disciplines. He graduated at the top of his class and was granted the commission of Ensign and recruited by the captain of a light cruiser.
Finding himself the ranking officer after a Borg attack where drones specifically executed the officers aboard Kane's ship he found himself once again in charge and facing another epic opportunity; In true Kane form he rose to the challenge and after taking control of the situation and spacing the Borg, he was granted command of the light frigate - which is part of well known recent events. |

The Hyperion Story is a on going project by member of the Hyperion Fleet. Its a e-novel written by member of the Hyperion Fleet about their in-game characters. This story is based on Star Trek knowledge and detailed back stories created for our members characters. Chapter 1 of this this story has just recently been finished and chapter 2 is now in the works.
